Lifted

Lifted

A Poem by tiefightersunite

This is surely not

(as I had thought)

The winter night

Of my life

Out comes the moon,

To keep company the stars

And feel them smile,

Comfort,

‘this is your spring,

Rejoice for you are

Young and vibrant’

My eyes are open,

My ears tuned to song

I have found my voice

And it does not tremble

(as I had thought)

Out comes a bird,

Starshine on wing

And it calls to me;

‘lift up your eyes,

I am ever constant;

Let your leaves breach the surface,

And grow towards the coming sun’
