Wall as Tapestry

Wall as Tapestry

A Poem by tiefightersunite
"

i took the end part of 'the night mare' and focused on the imagery in the end, slowing it down and zooming in to the specifics of that scene in my bedroom.

"

Shadows and raindrops mingling on my wall,

Reflections thrown from cars’ headlights and refracted through panes that are

Rain-soaked, light-drenched. Rough wall shows in that light, raw bumped plaster

Smothered in paint. Wind moves, branches jump and sway. The rain slows to a trickle off the roof,

And the drops on the window are magnified times ten in their likeness on the wall.

Light hits the mobile hanging from the ceiling, landing on the metallic moon and

Casting yet another reflected sparkle on the walls. Walls like canvas with

Shadow paint, luminescent pigment. Soft noises of pattering

Rainfall, creaking wood, and distant traffic. A car passes again, close,

Its creeping tires swooshing through puddles on the wet tar

Bringing more sound, more light, more presence to the dark world in its slow

Sleep. The mobile catches an exhaled draft and turns, glinting once, twice, again

As it twists round and round, into and out of the street’s glow.

The light fades fast with my consciousness.
