Observation #2A Poem by Richard MuellerPoetry based on observations.
Chit-chat around me, pop culture, their schoolwork, the weekend upcoming
some slouched back, relaxing, some knees at 90 degrees, feet to floor, math In Pre-Calculus, I see posters of mathematicians, scientists, philosophers, and more, there's the door, I looked up at it for a second when the bell rang, but I have a double period And so I stay, there's still chit-chat around me, still pop culture, schoolwork, weekend upcoming, they're still stretched out, relaxed, their still knees at 90 degrees, feet to floor, and math Clock ticks, tapping feet, particularly the sound of my own, as I try to find the rhyme, the reason, the rhythm, AB AB? No, too structured now, and who needs structure in a crumbling world Chit-chat, culture, work, weekend, relaxed, still, feet to floor, more math, what am I doing and why am I here? Or am I even here? I feel like I've flown away from my body Perhaps I shall for a while.
