Waves

Waves

A Poem by Richard Mueller
"

Yup

"
I felt like a giant when I stood beside you,
the shore shifting under my feet
You seemed to ask me whether I had a clue
where the sand and the water meet
I can only be witness to your tongue that you chew
slowly swallowing down your throat
You can only be so angry and storming and so blue
as you decide to thrash the boat

Reading your words was like experiencing A physical and emotional shipwreck, all at the same time.
