Temptations

Temptations

A Poem by Richard Mueller
"

Poems are good.

"
Around the bend and back again and again and again and a-
no, it has to end, and I will make sure it does for the piece of sanity
Look at the mirror and its parallel world
Back again, again, again, a-
NO! DO NOT BE DRAWN INTO TEMPTATION!
Again, again, again, a-
But look at the pretty symmetry in motion...
Again, again, again, a-
SNAP OUT OF IT, PLEASE!
Again, again, again, a-
Again, again, again, a...
Again, again, again, a-
NEVER AGAIN, NEVER AGAIN, NEVER AGAIN, NEVER A-
Confusion, confusion, error overload, a-
What am I doing...? Where am I...?
Confusion, confusion, explosion imminent, a-
GET OUT OF THE WAY!
And so they both died that day
So beautifully demolished in colours and lights
Temptation is an animal waiting to strike
Constantly
