A Hero's TaleA Poem by Richard MuellerWe're all heroes, so let's give him a helping hand
The distraught pen forms waves, ripples on the paper's water
Those waves formed, facing the town, looking to manslaughter But there was a hero, a knight in shining armour, ready to fight Ready to fight against the tsunami's great, unadulterated plight And so he lifts up his sword, gets on his horse, and he rides Foaming at the mouth and horse's feet clapping, onward to the tides And so the horse stops at the break between sand and sea Little did he know that pen was mightier than sword and he And so him and the town were totaled, ruined beyond repair Let this be a lesson that one needs to know their enemy and weapon And that it should not be among one hero, the weight to bear © 2016 Richard MuellerAuthor's Note
