DetainedA Poem by Maddy StillmanI feel limited in action and emotion by outside sources. Nothing I could say or do would loosen the chains.
the irony of your beliefs
and what demands you extend generates the laughter of a bitter tongue; one that speaks few but grand. with such surety hangs all hope of sway so oft infirmity but presently not when slim minds best hearken. what pursuits to be had with your assent by dint of rank and fortuity but you do not dare dream as I do. and so such visions of care and conscience do subside but remain so vivid as how but I covet much brighter days. © 2015 Maddy StillmanAuthor's Note
