Reverie

Reverie

A Poem by Maddy Stillman
"

A lot of my time is spent on dreams.

"
in a world as large as this

where hopes are high

and dreams exist

how could one not ponder

of brilliant stars and

moments missed?

of all the thoughts

one could think

I may have gotten lost

inside my mind

where dreams are far

from matter but still craved.

I’m afraid

my time’s a waste

when every second spent

invested in imagination

will vanish

without remnant.

but how’s to blame

a curious child

willing to explore

a world so vast

and colorful

where miracles are formed?

This is beautiful, i really like the turn of tone towards the end. It really pulls the whole piece together. I like it :D

Sometimes I wonder why I spent so many of my youthful hours on pretend but, that was long ago when I did not know that sometimes pretend became reality and it would then amuse me! Active minds when we are young often become think tank minds upon their maturity. Reverie is a wonderful sounding word that should be enjoyed to it's fullest.

I love the flow of 'Reverie'. It feels like a mellow waltz...a dance that feels good, but feels so short when the music stops. So I read it again, hoping the music would not stop. Hang on to this poem, dear poet, it will find many readers.
