decieving appearences

decieving appearences

A Poem by thuy

In a world where appearances deceive,

Where the mask we wear, we carefully weave,

There lies a soul, burdened and heavy,

Wrapped in a cloak of smiles, so empty.

For as long as I say the right thing,

And do the right thing, my mask shall cling,

They think I'm fine, oh, how they're blind,

But inside, my heart weeps, no solace to find.

Yes, I smile and nod, play the part,

Yet within my soul, a tempest starts,

The depths of my turmoil, they fail to see,

The cries of my spirit, yearning to be free.

In the silence, where shadows uncoil,

The darkness within me begins to boil,

Behind closed doors, the truth takes flight,

Unveiling the battles fought in the night.

For beneath the facade of a cheerful guise,

Dwells a wounded heart, where sadness lies,

The pain unseen, a hidden war I wage,

While the world passes by, unaware of my cage.

But know, dear soul, you're not alone,

Within the shadows, others have grown,

There's strength in our struggles, in every tear,

A collective voice, whispering, "I too am here."

So, let the masks fall, let truth emerge,

Release the weight, let vulnerability surge,

For it is in vulnerability, we find our might,

And true healing begins, in the rawness of our plight.

No longer bound by the lies we portray,

Let's embrace our truth, come what may,

For beneath the facade, strength shall arise,

And together, in authenticity, we shall rise.
