Seasons

Seasons

A Poem by thumbelina

Like the leaves on the trees,
we blossom in the summer
and fall in the autumn.
Changing with the seasons,
uncovering new reasons,
To be.
Growing bare in the winter,
we search for comfort
in those who offer us shelter.
In the spring,
we discover our voices,
learning to sing -
like the birds that call to us,
inspiring profound gratitude and infinite love.
Love, for the air that we breathe
and the sun that we need.
Like the leaves on the trees,
We shed from our branches,
learning to concede,
our innocent mistakes.
Laying ourselves down
against the cold hard ground,
await the next cycle,
to come full circle.
Our stories being written,
a most beautiful rendition!

Being swept away,
day by day,
as the wind for-takes,
You and I...

I love the subject matter you tackle in your poems. Hard realities, but honest poetry.
"Our life is but a season...and who will weep when winter winds come?"
