Sam from the bar

Sam from the bar

A Poem by T.
"

I wrote this when I was drunk one time and thought this guy at the bar was my soulmate and I just found this in a notebook under my bed and I'm loling.

"
Already gone when I got there,
I saw you standing by the bar.
I walked up to get a beer,
but a $10 limit with credit cards.

So I got 4 beers then,
1 for me and 3 for who?
Sad I had 3 extras
but then you said "hey how are you?"

I said "good. here take one"
and you politely refused.
You flashed a grin that killed me
it was that cute

We tried to talk over the noise
of that s****y cover band,
but I couldn't actually hear you
Drunk In Love bud light in hand.

So sweet I found me picturing us together
liquored up you were picturing us together
in you bed for the night
and me w/ you forever.

I know it's crazy but I really
caught the feels kinda fast.
I wanted to go w/ you but I knew better than that.

You said, "I dig you"
I said "Pig feet? I can't hear you"
it's so loud
accoustic CRAP in the background
GOD DAMN cover band man, I am TRYING to fall in love here.

Can't hear so we start singing instead.
We are f*****g soulmates, Sam.

You tried to kiss me when ya left and
I swerved but now I regret it.

If I could redo that I'd lean in
the other way
bc screw self restraint/respect
I want your lips on my lips.

Wake up in the morning you're gonna be in my mind
but not in my bed
and I'll be stuck with this empty feeling

Where are you? I'll find you.
I'll crawl all the bars just to find you, Sam.
Crawl so hard m***********s want to fine me.
