Let it come

Let it come

A Poem by threelittlebirds

I watch the words spiral out of your mouth in graceful, strange arcs

I watch them fall, I watch them vanish

But they stay with me "

Silence speaks more than words

This is why your words, so few, are so precious to me

I watch the notes, the arching melodies

I watch them tumble out your mouth

Out of the strings and out of the keys

I watch them glide

And they find me

I sit, I listen

You sit, you listen,

Together we sit, together we listen

To the sounds of silence

To the sounds of rain

So let it come, I say

Let it come

Let the rain fall on our shoulders

Let us walk with our faces to the sky

Let the cold, miserable rainy days come

Beacause they walk hand in hand

With fresh spring rain

The summer showers

Think of them, I say

Let them come too

Run with them

With no purpose

And no conviction

But with a destination

The love, the touch, the smell, the sensation

The words, the place, the time and the thing

The feeling of purity

Our destination
