Future History

Future History

A Poem by Sara Jane Hamilton

Lines of night

On these snowy pages

The human plight

Told through the ages

More than just stories "

Souls in these bindings

History, dreams kept in

Tales ever-winding

Words are dancing

Sentences soar

Characters live

Dragons - they roar

Through both truth and fantasy

The record is kept

Lessons passed on

Battles won, tears wept

Blood running thick

Peace and upheaval

Kindness and cruelty

Goodness and evil

Values are taught, morals read

Remember then, these words penned

For those who heed not

Are doomed to spend

The future

As history
