hello

A turn of face, a glimpse, a daze,
A bit of memory, soon a haze ...
Your wick flickers, the light weaker -
The shadow spreads, the darkness dreads;
Is this a hand a shelter from the wind?
Is this a hand a chain of strength?
Is this a hand for a shake of befriending?
Is this a hand extending the faith?
Is this a hand to get the need?
Is this a hand to push after the feed?
Is this a hand that cloaks the rest?
Is this a hand to lead you to death?
