Come Back Mojo

A Poem by Thomas W Case

"
Rain splashes off the
screen door.
It's raining in
my heart
chubby little drops
splashing on my soul.
The sadness is deeper
than a lagoon,
bluer too.

There are days
it doesn't pay to
get out of bed.
Maybe,
in the next dream
I'll find my
prodigal cat.
We could listen to
Sketches of Spain,
Miles Davis knows
how to bring the lost home.

She's a black runt that
burrowed into my heart.

This poem is incredibly expressive. The image of rain splashing off the screen door and onto the soul is quite vivid and beautiful, the comparison of sadness to a deep, blue lagoon is really striking and works well to describe the complexity and depth of emotions.

Thomas, I don’t think you are capable of writing a poem I don’t like. And I love cats, always until recently lived with one or more. Hope you find yours if this poem is true life. Did you give a nod to Bowfinger, a favorite film of mine, with the chubby rain drops in your heart?

Thank you, I vaguely remember the movie. Eddie Murphy? I appreciate you.
'Sketches of Spain' is brilliant Thomas, a jazz 'Masterpiece'. Sorry you seem to be feeling 'blue'. 'The darkest hour is just before the Dawn'. Really Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
