Upon Visiting the Dead

Upon Visiting the Dead

A Poem by Thomas W Case
"

Here's a link to my you tube channel where I read my poetry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRhyjqbFrGI

"
I visit the dead at
the grocery store,
library,
on the phone
and
in my e-mails.
I watch them
on TV,
at the beach,
in my dreams
and in the eyes
of crows.

They wear
colorful clothes, and
always want to
sell me on their
way of life.
No thanks, I’m
calling the whole
thing off.
I’m going fishing.

i love the cavalier attitude of the persona. he knows what he likes and doesn't bother with everything else. all around us are people who think they know everything and think they know what's good for everyone else. such people are best ignored, as our hero has done.

Yes, fishing is a great sport whether you are tossing a line of poetry or a line with a baited hook into the water...

Thank you, Ken.
I love fishing. Me and my youngest grandson we fish in the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair weekly. I agree with the ending. Hard to find a good conversation. Thank you Thomas for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
