Sacred Pause

Sacred Pause

A Poem by Thomas W Case
"

Here is a link to my you tube channel where I read my poetry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbj9bj58Txw

"
When the urge
to react to the
tactless clowns,
and
down looks like
up,
and life's teeth
are sharper than
a steak knife,
breathe,
and take a
sacred pause.

sound advice when life seems to have us cornered. patience is a virtue. as the good book says, "Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly." life will turn us into hamburg if we're not careful. now if i could just get those images of clowns and a sharp steak knife out of my head i'll be able to sleep tonight. well said.

really captutres that moment right before losing control. taking a few deep breaths does the trick... sometimes. i should try it, i have anger issues.

It works, my friend. Thank you.

The principle of never rushing a pause .. tends to work for me .. Nice one in a nasty kind of way if you get my drift .. Neville

Thank you, my friend.
i love how it can also be a moral advice
down looks like up

The(down) evil became (up) good

I like your style a lot
The pauses too

Thank you so much.
Beautiful in its wisdom and brevity. A pausing breath is so underestimated. A panacea for all violence.

I agree. Thank you so much.
Very good advice here. Breathe and take a sacred pause. Too many, when they get wound up with negative emotions, want to fight.

Brief but oh so wise, Thomas. How relevant in today's world - perhaps re-named. 'Inconstant'
