Looking for that Highway

Looking for that Highway

A Poem by Thomas W Case

"
Life wears me out with its
twists and turns, and
hairpin curves.
I keep waiting for
a long, peaceful stretch
of a highway, bathed in
the rising sun.
A golden wheatfield to
to the left, a moss-covered
pond with dragonflies to
the right.
The road turns to gravel
and climbs rapidly uphill.
There are signs along the
way that promises the world.
The road gradually turns
to dirt and ultimately
disappears.

good stuff. the ride can be rough while we wish for smooth sailing. oftentimes it seems as though no matter which path we choose its bumpy and ends nowhere. this made me think that it's not about the destination but rather being able to just enjoy the journey, ride the bumps and maneuver the "curves" as you say,

Thank you, my friend. I appreciate it.
Beautiful presentation of environment. I love curved roads than straight roads. Good poem

Thank you. I appreciate the comment.
Roads do have a way of changing rapidly, giving us the impression we have lost the way. But if we keep our eyes fixed on the road, the dingy scenery on either side will not deter us.
