Here's a link to my you tube channel where I read my poetry.
Chain smoking sadness, slapped by time. Winter doesn't freeze the pain. There was one thing that Mom wanted desperately: It was to have a picture of her seven kids all together, in one place, at one time. There was an age difference of 23 years between the youngest and the oldest, and 1000 miles separating us.
In December of 1987 two weeks before Christmas, I held a picture of the seven of us all together. I put it in the right front pocket of her navy blue blazer. After the funeral, we buried her with it. Oh Mom, I wish we could have done this when you were alive.
Important things not resolved with a parent--I know about that, and your words hit home. Sending the picture with her, though late, is substantial, and will surely be appreciated by her on the other side. I have to believe that, for I'm in the same boat.
well told. touching for sure. hindsight is always 20/20. life is short and delicate which is why we have to do everything we can while we can. many families can't even stand being in the same room together let alone a picture.

Sorry for your loss. Our moms love us unconditionally. They just love us and I can tell how much you love your mother with this deep write. You told us a story and showed us how you feel Thank you:)
