"
Fear is like
the shadow of a bat,
larger than life.
I taste the
rabid nightmares;
they poison my soul.
Anger masks the fear.
I hear the harpies scream
in my febrile brain
and my faith is
small as a
grain of sand
growing slowly
over time.

interesting write, but couldn't say that I didn't like it.
I wrote something somewhat similar years ago, it was called, Nightmare or Nightmares.

You're welcome.
Fear and anger poison the soul, as well as the mind where they set our imagination on fire in a negative way and you have captured that finely in this excellently penned poem, Thomas. A tiny grain of faith is like the tiny grain of sand which overtime creates a precious pearl in an oyster, it too will grow into a pearl of consciousness to fight both fear and anger. Lovely work! Thank you for sharing...
