I Thirst for your Footsteps

I Thirst for your Footsteps

"
I long for the majestic
sunset of your hair,
windblown, dancing across my cheek…
The burnt orange and lavender…
I want to consume every drop.
I’m thirsty for your
footsteps near my bed, parched with
desire for your presence, your essence.
How long until you wet my
tongue, and quench this fire?
I stalk slumber like a shadow…
my only release from the
hunger and yearning for your
moist lips, like peaches
pressed against mine.

Sensual, oozes with sugar romance, takes the reader on a colorful ride. Poem flows smooth from start to end with every line piquing the interest more and more. Poetry in motion here. these lines stood out for me, "I stalk slumber like a shadow…
my only release from the
hunger and yearning for your
moist lips"
Thanks for sharing, Thomas. Enjoyed the write!

Loving, romance and passion in your words Thomas. I had to read again. The poem made me believe love was alive and well. I liked how you used the language. Thank you my friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thank you, my friend.
This one overflows with physical sexual imagery, yet none of it comes across as pornography. The speaker is thirsty for the physical presence of the beloved in as many ways as possible, but none of it has the defiling characteristics of porn. I think many women would love to be desired in this way.

Thomas, your poem is created in such superb wording, from true and gentle love itself,
'I long for the majestic
sunset of your hair,
windblown, dancing across my cheek…' to passion,
' parched with
desire for your presence, your essence.
How long until you wet my
tongue, and quench this fire?'
Start to finish you express man's adoration of and for his lady.
