Here is a link to my you tube channel where I read my poetry.
Writing is my love that never betrays. It doesn't lie or cheat. It never complains that I leave the toilet seat up or that I leave hairs in the sink. It has never said, "You drink too much or not enough." It always wins the bets, sets the sun, and skins the cat. It's always raw and never well done, medium rare at worst, and never burnt. It doesn't ask me to do aerobics or yoga, and it would never tell me to quit smoking. I would stake my life on it. Writing is my love that will be with me until the end.
One has to be a write to understand the great love affair that it is, Thomas. It gives us sooooo much without asking for anything in return. It is always there for us whenever we need it. It is our constant companion who shares our joys and sorrows. You have captured the gift of writing superbly in this wonderful poem. I like this very well written poem very much! Thank you for sharing, Thomas...
We are taught writing as early as it can taught. Children are encouraged to socialise. How do they do that? By talking, drawing and writing! Once letters are known writing is par for the course, then of course, the magic of reading. THEN, wonderful then, tis time to write.. WRITE. A word that even sounds 'right'. It spurs on magic adventures, time to delve into everything. Writing, reading, sharing words means contact with a world far greater than the view from a window. It beckons from the ourside in . It is Everything.. if you want..

Thank you so much for the comment. I appreciate it.
Apart from being a wonderful emotional outlet, writing can be quite compulsive making the writer much more aware of everything around him. The smallest happening asks to be recorded in word whether poem or story... very little goes unoticed to the creative eye... everything becomes food for thought and once hooked there is nothing to compare to the pleasure it brings.

I feel sad for those who don't have writing, art, or other activity that they can be passionate about. When life goes sour for them, they'll at least need to have some very good friends to pull them through. We creative folks, on the other hand, can delve into a world where all things are possible. I like the words you've written.
You are so right. Writing, if you keep at it, will not desert you. Of course, if mine ever starts whining about the toilet seat, I might have to slap the b***h.
Unconditional love, genuine, true and pure is so finely sketched for your reader in this very relatable poem, Thomas. Gratitude for sharing. I so enjoyed reading...
