Look at them gather at the gallows. That's entertainment. Monkeys sell popcorn, and do tricks, dressed in sailor suits. You bought your tickets, Now enjoy the show.

Some people have always revelled in others mishaps and I guess that is how it will always be in this planet. One feels so sad for the one on the gallows, but just like that person, their hands are also tied and there is nothing they can do. This is a human behavior I've always had trouble with. When the girl in the high school lunchroom dropped her tray, people laughed, but not me. No, I saw it as a tragedy and felt her pain. A great poem.
