That bubble of a moon is playing peek-a-boo behind the wispy night sky. Confirming to me everyone's lunacy. Words stick to the roof of my mouth like peanut butter. It could have been a better world, I should have been a better man.
January snowflakes are like guilt falling from the sky. little frozen starfish... cold and raw on the soul, and tongue.

A poem which harbours a lot of guilt, but if we try to do the best we can and be the best version of ourselves possible, then there is no more we can do, and feeling guilty about it is a very unnecessary burden, Thomas. Excellent use of various figures of speech and depiction throughout the poem which is finely penned and expressed. Thank you for sharing, Thomas...
I doubt that there is anyone who thinks of their past and doesn't wish they'd done something different. If we learn from our mistakes and tweak our behaviors, it's a good thing.
I like the description of the moon and the snowflake starfish descriptions.
Sadly I think we all have thing we wish would have been different but the most important thing is how we move forward with our lives and the lessons we have encountered along the way.
"IF" ...... How many times do we think that as we get older?
life is a learning curve with many options along the way , we choose the path and walk as steadfast and well as we can even when the terrain gets tough and then that word "IF" we had taken a different path things might have been better ..... but of course things could have been a whole lot worse too ...
I feel guilt about a lot of things , i think we all do but we haveto reconcile ourselves to trying to make amends if we can else time stands still in yesterday..

I like the peanut butter part...I eat Jif Natural right out of the jar.
I also lately find the words stick in my mind and won't translate to the page.
And I often wish I were a better person than I am.
