"
She pulls away when
I kiss
her.
And she treats me
like a stray dog.
I fell asleep, and
she retired to the
box springs alone.
I suck at good byes.
It's only a couple of days,
I know.
It still sucks.
She's going to Missouri
to get some things from
her Moms'.
She's a f*****g nut.
A break will
do us good,
but I'll still
miss her.

What a lovely little poem about separtation.
I don't know if it's about a proper separation, or just being apart for a few days, but either way, I think it's a really lovely perspective to show a man feeling a bit vulnerable about being away from the woman he loves. We're getting better at this as a society, but I think men sometimes feel a bit nervous about showing their true feelings, especially when they're so sweet. So to have a poem like this--- written from a man's perspective, and by a man--- showing such heart is a glorious little blessing.
Well done :)

Sometimes love is not enough! Best out of a relationship which is no longer viable. Yes, we miss the other half of ourselves, but... It's better to miss someone than spend a life sentence with them, a prisoner of love. Great write! Thank you for sharing, Thomas...

Gee
Can so relate to this. In the 31 year I've been wed we have never spent more than 1 week apart at any given time, tis like I have a limb missing when we are not side by side

Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
Missing someone does not depend upon them deserving it or how great they are it depends upon the one missing them. A great write that pokes at that need we all have to be with someone.
