I feel like I'm stuck in a bad video game, like pong, from the first Atari. And I'm that little dot that gets ponged back and forth. Life is like a Scene from Dante's inferno... Abandon all hope... I need mountains, The ocean, And the breath of 6-week-old puppies.
Your poem paints a vivid and poignant picture of feeling trapped and overwhelmed by life's challenges. The analogy to a "bad video game, like pong, from the first Atari" cleverly captures the sense of being stuck in repetitive cycles, where every move seems predictable and futile.
Comparing life to a scene from Dante's "Inferno" adds a layer of depth and intensity, conveying a profound feeling of despair and hopelessness. The line "Abandon all hope..." echoes the bleakness of a struggle with no apparent escape.
Amidst this despair, your longing for the solace found in nature—mountains, the ocean, and the innocence of puppies—is a poignant contrast. It speaks to a yearning for simplicity, purity, and the healing power of natural beauty in the face of life's harsh realities.
Overall, your poem effectively captures the emotional complexity of feeling trapped and seeking solace, using vivid imagery and powerful metaphors. It evokes empathy and introspection, inviting readers to reflect on their own struggles and aspirations for peace and renewal. Well done!
We need go past the ordinary every day and grab hold of the all around as if the day was almost ended. Nothing like the breath and sight of playful puppies learning how to... Methinks we need remember what it was to take life by the tail and chase our dreams! Super sweet finish, Thomas, sir!

A witty expression of ideas there, the reference of being stuck in a game, we indeed need those refreshments to save us from our tiring lives. Wonderfully written free verse!
I loved the last line, the conclusion so much. What better way to get out of the matrix then with nature and puppies. You always say something so inspirational, dear Thomas.
Yeah, life seems to throw vultures our way when we least expect it and even when we do expect it. That's when they seem to fly around forever. Hang in their Thomas.
