Fear Wears Bowling Shirts

"
In our times,
no one wants
to be politically
incorrect.
"Let's not offend."
seems to be the
chant.
Nice little
sheep
that
stay
in line.
Simple smiles, and
polite applause,
but just
a smattering.
Agreement en masse.

Next time you see
this, look for the
return of public
hangings, the blotting
out of the sun, and the
death of art that is
forged from the
marrow of the spirit.

go along to get along. a real gutter ball. people do love a good witch hunt as long as it's for someone else. takes guts to stand alone for what is right. we need people who aren't afraid to stray once in a while. helps keep the system honest - if there is such a thing. fear is a powerful force that never leaves a tip because it doesn't have to.

We're all to blame, and yet none of us are to blame. Blacked Out Sons sounds like a new hip-hop group. (I know you blotted your sun; I full-on blacked it out and changed sun to son. With many apologies). Nice 'n tight.

Hey, thanks for reading and commenting.
Very interesting Thomas - certainly a tenable point of view. Art will never die though - like Poetry, it is eternally renewing and being reborn in different ways.

I sure hope not. Thank you for reading and commenting.
It is my believe that one human being should never think, do, say anything offensive in any way to another human being, dear Thomas. There is so much hurt and pain in the world which needs healing, we truly should not add to it. We need to show respect for everybody who crosses our path in life and if we can help them, we should do so, but we should never say or do anything which would hurt them psychologically, emotionally, physically or spiritually. We should be both sincere and honest and encouraging to all and treat them like our brothers/sisters which they truly are as we all belong to The Family of Man. Our world needs all the love it can get in order to evolve to a better place for everybody. These are only my thoughts, dear Thomas. This is how I live my life every day that I have a life to live. Thank you for sharing this very finely penned, evocative and thought provoking poem. Bless you always, dear friend...
