I put the spike in and push it a little; withdraw, and there it is. That beautiful rose bloom flash. Push the plunger and I 'm back in Eden. Naked and no shame. And in that moment it's better than sex and God and Heaven, and chocolate. I'm lost in a storybook blue sky, and I don't want to be found. Nothing matters, but the sublime substance pumping through my veins that make me immortal. Icarus flying into the sun until my wings melt and I fall back to earth and do it all again.
A powerful piece you wrote here...this substance is quite a Devil for anyone vulnerable enough. I'm a little over 7 months sober from alcohol, never got much into drugs. The journey to sobriety is a struggle, just take it one day at a time and focus on what things you are able to control. Thank you for sharing!

Your description tells me why, once tried it is so difficult to come off it. The only people I know who were successful needed rehab. That is a drug with some pulling power. You make it sound tempting Thomas.
Here there is the raw passion of Self awareness. Of everything passed and the endurance and determination of today. There you share the once and could have been forever.

I was lost then.. found, however. An extraordinary write, admired for its utter surrender
it seems you have a different street speak in the US Thomas we talk about barrels and pins over here ..
anyway, without blowing my own trumpet, I can usually get someone off gear in about 4-5 days max, keeping them off however is another matter entirely .. booze takes considerably longer and carries greater risks but as you already seem to know the underlying determinant of success is down to the determination of the individual and the availability of tailored supports .. with respect, much respect ..
