If I could take this moment and own it, hold it, like a piece of paper, I'd fold it and stow it away, like a pocket knife.
If you would be my wife, I'd be the happiest guy in the world. You'd be my girl, and I'd be your man... I would hold your hand and kiss you, and you'd never miss me again.

I love this beautifully penned poem, so romantic, delightful and charming. All we have is the present moment in time, the next one is not promised to us and so, we should make the most we can of the present and make beautiful memories for the future. I adore the simplicity of this poem. It is penned without need for flowery language or in depth picturization, which makes it perfect! The longing for someone so special to be your girl and for you to be her man is very finely expressed and wrapped in warm and tender words. Excellent use of various figures of speech throughout the poem and I love both the layout of the poem and the title. An exceptional poem! Thank you for sharing, Thomas...
Sincere, heartwarming and enamoured sentiments enrich the poem with such sweetness and warmth that gets even the freshest bread in the bakery to envy. If heart can bleed, then love is one appropriate reason for it to do so; And though no moment is eternal, we always try to make the memories unadulterated by time, and always for a good reason. What a lovely poem to read, thank you for sharing your work, author Thomas W Cage. May your moment lasts longer than eternity.

Love is tender and beautiful when we have the right person. It is very sweet and beautiful write, Thomas. True, precious things stay for a little time but their footprints are timeless.

Such times do not stay they fade into the past like smoke in the air. Memories are all that is left. A plea for acceptance and love that I hope does not go unnoticed and responded to.
a real straight-shooter you are. i should fold this and put it in my pocket and use it with the ladies. then maybe i wouldn't feel so damned alone all the time but then again marriage is an extreme of faint return. seriously, good stuff twc.
