She threw me a rock in a sea of madness. A twisted lifeline, when I longed for love. Now it's just empty space, a knife wound to the face, and a new house that I can see the library from.
I have started over like this at one point in my short life, probably hit by a rolling boulder though, rather than a rock. New beginnings can be both daunting and thrilling at the same time. At least your house is new and books and knowledge are within easy reach. Touching poem, Thomas.

Now here are lines to provoke thought in a placid mind.
"She threw me a
rock in a
sea of madness."
A really great opening. Several ways that this can be taken. A weight or a lifesaver, put out of misery or saved either works. Nisely written Thomas.
A rock in a sea of madness can be a lifesaver, but existing without love when you need it, is so hurtful. You convey that pain well in Starting Over. I felt this one Thomas.
