There goes Vincent with
his jagged sky, and
ragged beard.
His cobalt blue are
stained with the glue that should
hold us all together,
but it doesn't.
His sunflowers are lost
on humanity.
When we can't hold
on to what we pretend to love,
we kill it...
Usually in small
treacherous ways,
like apathy or
arrogance.

Impressive piece, despite my limited knowledge of the fellow, which can be summed up with the most misquoted thing of all first, that he didnt sell any paintings in his lifetime, which most people who have heard of a pub wuiz league knows is a trick question, because he sold loads, while working as an art salesman in England, so should read "he sold none of his own painting, which thsnkfully moves me on to my fibal piece of trivia abouy his sunflowrrs. Didnt he paint them to cheer up the room of another artist who was staying with him.
Eother way, im sure he'd nod appreciatively at this.

dearest Thomas, all I can keep up with at present... are some poems on WC. My Husband takes Dialysis and has a weak Heart-- so most of my Time is spent being a Caretaker. I do find strength in reading every day poetry when I can. softly, Pat
