I Was Painting You

I Was Painting You

A Poem by Thomas W Case
"

Love makes the world go around.

"
I know they look like
sunrises and sunsets,
but I was painting you.
When I painted all the
rivers that lead to
the oceans, and the
glorious starry nights,
and the flowers, the
sublime orchids and
the tender roses.
In the end
and from the beginning,
I was painting you.

Thomas,
Great rendition of what we are here for!
I've been a poet for over half a century, and written who knows how many poems, essays, short commentaries, and walked through forests, deserts and the shores of oceans, and every bit of it was for Patricia Alice whom I did not meet until just a handful of months ago... Patricia Alice was all my dreams.

Thank you Pete
This is a beautiful I love you poem, painted in sunrises an all of nature, because these stunning features are really you... As I am painting, I am thinking of you and these glorious images are really you, because you are my everything....
Warmly,
B.

Thank you so much.
The lover is always painting the beloved, no matter what the picture reveals. This is the true inspiration.

Thanks John.
Beautiful poem! Love the language, the rhythm, the flow! It puts in my mind a pastel watercolor.

Love is the essence of the greatest of paintings, but it is also the spectrum of dye in which you've touched upon to color the figure of your lover. And it turned out, wonderfully. Thank you for sharing your illuminating work, author Thomas W Case.

Very kind. Thank you.
Given the ever increasing cost of decent artist's type quality paint, makes this even more of a heartfelt tribute
