An Invincible Summer

An Invincible Summer

A Poem by Thomas W Case
"

About being alive.

"
I need to straighten
my dreams out,
they got crooked along the way.
In my frozen castle,
in this grueling winter of life,
lies in me an invincible summer
that longs to be free;
scabbed up knees and
grass stains on my soul,
it just itches to run, and
swim the rivers,
and lie long in the sun.

Yes, Thomas....

Somewhere along the way, sadly, we lose the joys and easy laughter of innocence, and as you say, they get bent and crooked as life turns to harsher reality.
It is poetry like this that reawakens the child in us all.
Now, my day will be filled with wonderful memories and things of youth to be grateful for.

Thank you so much for bringing it back, and for the poetic admonishment to not forget those early moments that shaped us to be what we are.

May this new smile in my heart dance with yours, at least for the day!
Excellent poetry, My Friend, and a delightful picture, too! ⁓ Richard🖌

Thomas?,

a majestically powerful read than shall endure beyond the ravages of a many invincible summer sun ...

You took me back in time with this one Thomas. Scabbed up knees and grass stains. When summer holidays lasted for what seemed ever. Pity they didn’t last and we all have to grow up. This poem brought back a warm feeling.
