All My LifeA Poem by Tom AubinThe story of a man that spent his life chasing stories to tell.ALL MY LIFE All my life I wanted to tell stories To turn the ordinary into a shape shifter To make it go down on its knees Until it would realize that it is not to suffer Than to believe that truth comes out of dreams All my life I wanted to create A despair, an outpour of myself And out of it make something great Something that for me, and yourself Would be a proof that love and hope once met But all my life I looked around Everywhere and nowhere, looking for these stories And the more I searched, the more I felt down Understanding that as dreams could rest, so they could run Away from me and lost in the land And here I am, my child, looking at my ruin of a face Through the mirror of your youth and I realize That my dreams never failed to trace The sketch of your familiar eyes This story I always chased But failed to recognize.
