The GalleryA Poem by Thomas Kainaroi
In my dream
I entered the dreams of many A place without time My thoughts began to wander Stone figures surround me Images in darkness arise Life made from the lifeless Nothing is impossible here The tour guide arrives She presents a feast of inspiration Mysteries are revealed My vision becomes extended Characters come to life Ideas are made visible This is where they live And here are their stories Exhibit I A man walks in darkness It rains and rains But he does not mind He lives and that is all Terrible weather came A family left with nothing Now there is only ruin But they will rebuild After a hard day's work A man is on his way home Footsteps follow behind He never looks back A mound of time and life Numbers glowing on the surface But nothing exists within The secret is hidden forever The man whose life Is always melting away “I don't care anymore,” he says Will he ever find the answer? Exhibit II The tour guide points to a woman She is abstract Full of emotions I can not solve the puzzle She then points to another woman Ah, she seems genuine So I journey alone in that direction Do I really know what is real? There I find a room And to my right there is an island Its people are leaving Their destination is unknown So there I was Alone but without fear Great wonders await me Time to journey further Exhibit III I travel back in time To view ancient works They come from the east Behold the entrance to another world A woman holds a candle She is surrounded by friends and foes A storm will soon reach her But she will be free Unnamed angels fill the room Philosophers begin to write A knight rides into battle And shadows begin to dance Then there was only silence And a man sits in meditation Trees begin to grow I found myself in a forest Now my only wish Was to be lost And never found In this house of many visions 4-29-06 © 2013 Thomas Kainaroi |
