Imprecise Impressions

A Poem by thissensibility

Trust me, you don’t want to know

The thought that just flew through my head

A game of quid pro quo with the status quo

This cache of nostalgia makes my dread drop dead

I keep craving for resolution

“Who am I”, I keep dissecting

As I find my path to retribution

“Who are they”, I keep suspecting

The axioms out there symbolize a double meaning

Whilst I tend to some faith healing; I wonder with a sense of unfeeling

I scuffle in dismay if my acumen turns out cliché

My shadow feels subhuman displaying a form of decay

People often explicate that they don’t judge

I jest intermittently when I see them grudge

Cynicism and sentimentality color my thinking quite a bit

A bit of skepticism, a bit of rationality makes it easy enough to take a hit

The wise guy always says “Look the world straight in the eye”

My mind keeps wondering why...

“An eye for eye turns the whole world blind”
