LightsA Poem by thisopenbookJust a poem about people who have made me be on my toes since they were always off and on with meStop?...Go? Am I stepping out to get run over?
Or am I crossing the road to get to the other side?
Why spin me, pick me up, then abruptly put me down?
Push me away, and contemplate me with a frown?
Lights green; you're smiling in my eyes
Soon as she walks in, you're wearing that wretched disguise
You are two-faced on completely different days
Always have to worry about looking both ways
Afraid to cross you, otherwise feel your rage
But why am I the one to tread carefully in your lane?
Yes, I like to walk in the fog
Feeling mist on my skin and unknowing of what's in stock
But why are you here, dropping smoke bombs as I walk
Knowing you haven't loved me all along?
Why is it you can look at me one way?
Yet suddenly change gears and hit the brakes?
I don't have to deal with this so whoa, you need to swerve
Because the direction you're leading me in is one I don't deserve
I can do better than driving off of a cliff
Oh those are yellow signs???
