Duality

Duality

A Poem by Emily In Disguise

Good times, fun times.

You and me, we rhyme.

Why can't you see?

We are meant to be.

Fake lies, true excuses.

Do you really want to lose this?

You say you care.

For me? When and where?

Smooth talk, sly kisses.

Forgotten promise, lost wishes.

Reading minds, frozen eyes.

Would you break these eternal ties?

Unsure gaze with certainty.

Why do I let you confuse me?

Let me be but never leave.

Let me go so I can't breathe.

Waking dream, living nightmare.

Can you prove that you still care?

My life, your game.

Do you even know my name?

My thoughts still true.

Still true towards you.

Your thoughts. Unglued.

Disappearing. Never viewed.

Author's Note

Emily In Disguise
This was written when I first started getting into poetry. (About Feb '08) It seems a little more immature than some of my other work.

Immature, I don't think so... I like it. Nice going with the two line stanzas to fit the theme.

About
I'm 19 almost 20. People call me Emily (not my real name, unless you haven't caught on) because I have never shared any of my writings before. I'm thinking it might be close to time to change that. more..
