Wings

A Poem by Sarah Marie

If I could be a bird, 
I would soar proudly overhead
And watch the joys of others
As they lived and worked together,
Watch with an envious heart.
If I could be a plane,
I would carry people to their homes,
Their families, or vacation
Where they would be happy for days.
Yet they would leave me.
If I could be a bumblebee
I would buzz happily all day;
I would forever be with nature and kiss 
Each flower's petal.
Yet people would avoid me.
If I could be an angel,
I would keep watch over every child,
Behind the shadows of the day. 
Yet they would only feel me-
Yet they would not appreciate me.
If I could have wings,
I would fly away.
