Da Vinci and Van Gogh were not the first To paint the beauties of the universe; It was rather the One Who made The creation in which the stars were laid. He had an infinite canvas On which to paint the very best. He held a brush yet used no smock, For greens flew to grass and grays soared to rocks; Blues found the oceans, and beige went to sand, Colors countless designed for man. A few cans of paint were spilled, And so sunrise and sunset were filled In tawny gold and the brightest pinks, Royal blue when the moon winks. His strokes were clean and crisp As He gave few clouds gentle wisps; Flowers began like tiny rainbows, Centerpieces lovely amidst all which grows In colors galore and details plenty, Diversity giving joy to many. The Painter admires from overhead His toil, More priceless than any other collection rare and royal.
Dear one of vision and grace, you have seen the depth of the world. Yes, all we do is copy or mock the original... all beauty, all love, all wonder flows from the Artist.

This is so beautiful! Very heartfelt and flowing-the rhyming was very sweet and pure. The idea is so wonderfully loving, and the detail is amazing! Love ALL your descriptions...this was a joy to read! X)
I really enjoy this poem. They way you descibe the world being created was like as if you were painting it youself, but we know what you meant of course. We know you were making sure that God got some credit for the fact that he created the world. Although there are many different religions and theories on how the world was created and who is the creator, but we all know for sure that us human's didn't create the world. The world was created before we were after all.
This is a beautiful poem, Sarah, and I must apologize for my review not being as big as it usually it aha, but I'm sure you're appreciate it all the same.

I am glad you like this! At first it was just going to be about nature and, well, pretty colors :) But along the way it adopted a nearly spiritual sense to me personally, so I feel like I am combining the best of two worlds in this! thank you!

It's funny that i have never seen it this way...it's amazing how humans always rush to take credit on things they just somehow advanced when the truth is God the one whom all the credit should go to. This is a well thought of and enlightening poem, well written Marie...thanks for sharing such pieces.
The imagery in this is strong! I am not someone who believes strongly in God myself, but the picture you've painted with words makes me want too. Good write.
