Dancer

Dancer

A Poem by Sarah Marie

See her dancing through the street,
See her lead the gay parade;
Hear the clicks of her stomping feet,
The dancer polished and unafraid
As she concentrates on the steady beat.
Watch the curls bounce with grace,
Fly with her twirls and rest on her shoulders;
See the broad smile across her face-
Dancer said to be livelier and bolder
Than others, beaming in a dress of glittered lace.
Dancer, will you please brighten our door;
Dancer, will you jump a little higher;
With eyes wild like the sea near shore,
Hair as red as a sparking fire-
Dancer, will you please dance a little more?
