Simple Man

Simple Man

A Poem by Sarah Marie

He sees more than any other eyes,
All the majesty before him in a picturesque scene.
He knows when to take a breath,
The smell of earth like being reborn.
He can taste the rain, pure
As if Heaven's own stream parting his lips.
He hears each call and song,
The painted buntings never ceasing to amaze him.
He feels the fog like an overpowering embrace,
The warm sunlight the greatest affection
He could ever wish to receive.
