Made My Bed

Made My Bed

A Poem by Sarah Marie

Made my bed to restlessly lie,
Forget the pain-at least try-
The longer I wait the more you come
Inside my heart, broken and numb;
I wish I could forget,
Wish we had never met;
Tear-stained cheeks and lack of trust-
Wish it had just been lust.
Caress your side of the bed-
Remember all that had been said.
Want back the worries
In place of stinging memories.
Feel the touch of your strongest hold
As I lie alone, sad and cold.
Made my bed and now I lie-
Drifting to sleep as I cry.
