Poetry Is

Poetry Is

A Poem by Sarah Marie
"

Using the senses...

"

The sight of multicolored quartz, gray-scale photos, and Snow White's roses"

The smell of an old book shop, light incense, and suffocating smoke"

The sound of rain on glass, a child's laugh, and a lover's cry"

The taste of bitter wine, chocolate-covered cherries, and blood on my tongue"

The feel of weathered pages, an early frost, and a hand in mine"

The mute offspring of heart and mind.
