Guardian AngelsA Poem by Sarah Marie
Holy souls wear saints’ clothes
Until life makes us fully damned, Until it breaks whatever heart is found, Causes us to curse the ground On which our feet so firmly stand; Demons prey while the godly pray For redemption, peace, or any such thing; They lie in wait for the scarred and maimed Then another at which to cast the blame- Yet still Heaven’s choir sings. Angels soar in tens of scores Above our pagan, darkened land; In legions the leaders praise and fly Past a blood moon in the night sky And guard every child, woman, and man From their fears then wipe the tears That fall down a hurting heart’s cheek, Shed in vain and in evil’s name; Hatred spreads like a wildfire’s flames, Yet there is love for those who such seek. © 2013 Sarah MarieReviews
