DesireA Poem by Sarah MarieDesirous me Lives only in the plea That longing will be quenched- It is too dear a friend And too strong a voice To be an enemy; Yet it works against me In the most horrid, Breathtaking ways. It tries to teach Me many things That otherwise I would Never learn; It shows me how to need And cling and yearn. Passion's playmate Is a vicious thing- As natural as a sigh, As pure as the sunrise, As fiery as a flame, And as sweet as sin.
