InsanityA Poem by Sarah MarieInsanity lives only In the minds of those Who wish it well, Who wish to cling To its ideas and beliefs- There is no end To insanity, only The ability to fade away In average’s name. Normality is too common To disappear and be noticed By its absence; Yet insanity-madness- It is too strong a thing, Too rare and fleeting To not be missed, To not be secretly desired. Average may die and become A sweet, faraway memory; But insanity’s end will only Grow into a feeling, The heart against the mind, The soul against all that has been And all still to come. Insanity’s mate is passion, A misunderstood, misguided Creation-it was banded long ago By all that is chaste and gracious; Yet it is reborn every minute Of every day when insanity And creativity together reign.
