EcstasyA Poem by Sarah MarieGeneralized view of itEcstasy stalks the night Into the light of day, Roaming over cobbled stones In search of new prey; It creeps and slinks like a mist, Residing everywhere, Craving attention and young hearts- Forgive it if it stares. It lives and breathes Within overflowing souls, Awaiting the moment When it can consume in whole; It will not rest until desire is kindled And lurking longing is found, Plaguing fools and kings Whose hearts are bound To duty or honor or even humility- It will not cease, this ecstasy.
