Distant souls on fire, Hands reaching higher For another to hold, For a way to grow, Fingers entwined; No time to pine, Spirits fading fast, Hoping love will last; Slow beats of the heart Quicken when far apart, Cannot stand to be away, Do not want to stray- But what is one to do When forgetting how to say I love you?
Not bad, but it does come across as a little simplistic, which isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but I just feel like you could do a great deal better, given your control of language and the concept you're working with. It's not bad but it's not really great either, I feel, and I just think you could do much better.
There's such a tension that builds in your words. The short phrases seem to stab at the mind with overwhelming thoughts of passion as well as pain. May love last; please may it last.
