My Soul's Apology

My Soul's Apology

A Poem by Sarah Marie

In the day,
I hear you screaming;
In the night,
I hear you crying-
At morning
I hear you mumbling,
And at dusk
I hear you sighing.
Do not go away
From my frightened gaze;
Do not leave me here
Wondering where you are.
My afflicted soul
And broken heart
Are no match
For pleading eyes
And quivering lips;
I cannot pretend
To even begin
Understanding
This dark place
In which you live.
I cannot be dragged down,
For I fear I will never
Be lifted up-
I have seen death
In your crystal eyes;
I have felt hell
In the tremor
Of your quaking bones,
Known agony
In but a simple stare-
I fear my heart
Cannot travel so far
As the depths
Of your own
Memories.
Forgive me,
My lonely,
Forgive me,
My love.

This is truly touching, and beautiful. I know that I can somehow relate to this...but I can't really put my finger on it...I'm actually speechless for once...this is such an amazing poem, and somehow I'm at a loss of words to describe this...so sorry my dear Sarah *bows a bit*
